Robert (Bob) Aston, 64, of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012, at home.

Born in Wilkes-Barre on March 21, 1948, he was a son of the late Trevor Aston and Lenore Aston, 92, of Riverview Ridge, Wilkes-Barre.

Bob graduated from E.L. Meyers High School in 1966, where he excelled in several sports. He completed a 27-year career in the U.S. Army and retired as a master sergeant. He served in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his son, Trevor, who died in Iraq in 2005; his wife, Catherine, who passed away 15 months later.

Bob is survived by his mother, Lenore, of Wilkes-Barre; sisters, Peggy Harris and her husband, Bill, of Mountain Top; Marybeth Lawrence and her husband, Wayne, Richmond, Va.; nieces and nephews, Jim Harris and family, Megan Harris Lascomb and family, Vermont; Matthew and Michelle Lawrence, Aston; Jay and Tiffany Lawrence, Elizabeth Lawrence, all of Virginia.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Committal services will be held at 1 p.m. today in Fort Bliss National Cemetery, El Paso.
