PITTSTON — Robert J. Rupp, 62, of Pittston, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Taylor on Feb. 20, 1951, and was a son of the late Leo and Helen (Wallace) Rupp.

Robert graduated from Hazleton High School. Afterwards, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. Robert recently retired from The Mt. View Care Center, Scranton, as a nurse.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa (Urglavitch) Rupp, who died in 2007.

He is survived by his brother, Robert McKay, Birmingham, England; sisters, Geraldine Harrity, Dupont; Marina Brooks, Philadelphia; Irene Prichard, Brighton Beach, England; and Alma Blanchard, London; and several nieces and nephews.

A blessing service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday with Father Joseph Verespy of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, officiating. Friends may call 6 p.m. until service at Kiesinger Funeral Services Inc., 255 McAlpine St., Duryea.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Robert Rupp.
