EXETER — Rose Colarusso, 91, formerly of Pittston, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in Highland Manor, Exeter.
Born in Pittston on July 11, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Giuseppe and Rosina Luciani LaFratte.
She was a graduate of Pittston High School and a member of St. Joseph Marello Parish, Pittston.
In her earlier years, she had worked at Consolidated Cigar and Owens Illinois. She also worked at Howard Johnson, Pittston, a job she truly enjoyed.
She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for friends and family. She also enjoyed spending her time crocheting blankets.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Colarusso; and a brother, Andrew LaFratte.
Surviving are her son, Ronald Colarusso, Wilkes-Barre; daughter, Joy Ann Lowe and her husband, Gary, Bethlehem; granddaughter, Christina Lowe; brother, Andrew LaFratte and his wife, Mary, Pittston; nephew, Joseph LaFratte and his wife, Cindy; niece, Rosemary LaFratte; nephew Andrew "A.J." LaFratte.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to Dr. Charles Manganiello, Pittston Medical Associates and the staff and management of Highland Manor. A special thank you goes to the Highland Manor Nursing Staff for the superior care they provided to Rose.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Monday from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 251 William St., Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston. Interment will follow in Pittston Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
