Ruth A. Kramer, 65, of Edwardsville, passed away Friday in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Maudlin Beaney and Agnes Williamson Beaney. She was a graduate of Wyoming High School, Class of 1965, and received her R.N. from the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1968. For 27 years, she was employed at the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital; for a time she served as head nurse of the Intensive Care Unit. After the closing of the Nesbitt Hospital, she was employed at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in Recovery Room, and prior to her retirement she was employed by the Center for Same Day Surgery. She attended Temple B'nai B'rith of Kingston with her family and was an active member of the Nesbitt School of Nursing Alumni Association.
Surviving are her husband, Richard, of 39 years; daughters, Rebecca Stitzer and her husband, Jonathan, Kingston; Allison Langdon and her husband, Christopher, Wayne, Pa.; grandchildren, Jacob and Robin Stitzer; sister, Mary Fino, and her husband, Charles, Wyoming; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, with the Rev. Ann Marie Acacio officiating, assisted by Rabbi Roger Lerner of Temple B'nai B'rith. Interment will be in the Wyoming Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and 10:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday. Shiva will be observed 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the family home.
