Thomas J. Godowsky, age 80, of Plymouth, passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at the Meadows Nursing Home, Dallas.

Born Feb. 29, 1932, in Plymouth, he was a son of the late Joseph and Helen Krisylevicz Godowsky.

He was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1950, and had been a member of the former St. Casimir's Church, Lyndwood, Hanover Township.

Prior to retirement, he was employed by InterMetro, of Wilkes Barre, as a welder for many years and a member of the Steel Workers Union of America.

Thomas was a United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion, Shawnee Post 463, of Plymouth.

He was on the Leadership Committee for the Plymouth Cub Scout Pack 455, and later Pack 456. Throughout his life, he was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, the former Beverly Scurry, who passed away June 9, 2012, and brother, Robert Godowsky.

Surviving are sons, Thomas W. Godowsky and his wife, Nancy, of Allentown; David Godowsky and his wife, Janice, of Plymouth; five grandchildren, Jessica, Amber, Jeffrey, Jennifer and Rachel; one great-granddaughter, Ayrianna; sister, Sandra Wanyo, of Larksville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth. Interment will follow in Edge Hill Cemetery, West Nanticoke.

Family and friends may call Monday from 9 a.m. until time of funeral.
