Tracey Zero, RN, 44, of Mountain Top, was taken unexpectedly into the hands of the Lord on Nov. 6, 2012, following injuries due to an accidental fire.

Tracey was born in Wilkes-Barre on Sept. 25, 1968. She was the daughter of Gottfried John and Gloria Hauer.

Tracey was a graduate of Crestwood High School, Class of 1986, and of Luzerne County Community College, where she earned a degree as a Medical Transcriptionist. While working as a transcriptionist at Geisinger Hospital, she furthered her education and became a Registered Nurse. Loving to work and care for children, she became a Pediatric Nurse and worked at the General Hospital for several years. She then worked at Dr. Barras, ENT, office for a short time before taking some time off to take care of her father-in-law until his passing. She most recently was employed with the General Health Care Agency as an RN.

Tracey loved helping others and was always there in time of need. She was the highlight of parties and always knew how to bring out the best in everyone. She will be greatly missed by everybody that knew her. She enjoyed being involved with her sons' baseball and being active in the football booster club. Tracey loved going fishing with her family. She cherished the holidays, especially Christmas, when she would make everyone handcrafted gifts. She not only loved making people happy, but also had a big and caring heart for animals, especially her cat Nitro.

Tracey was a member of St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top.

In addition to her parents, Tracey is survived by her husband, Christian, her two sons, who were the joy of her life, John C., and Christian, her sisters, Tina Hauer, and Kim Sledziewski and her husband Joel; niece, Martina Sledziewski, who she enjoyed spoiling; nephews, Joel and Nathan Sledziewski, who always looked up to her; sister and brother-in-law Karen and Allen Baker, sister and brother-in-law Lynne and Rich Dibou; nieces and nephews, Katie and David Baker, and Rich, Jen, and Adam Dibou, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top. All those wishing to attend the Mass are asked to go directly to the church for 9:30 a.m. Interment will immediately follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at McCune Funeral Home, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top.
