Vera Cimino, of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on July 2, 2013, at Riverstreet Manor, where she was a guest.

Born Jan. 17, 1927, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Teresa Germont Cimino. She attended the Wilkes-Barre schools and, prior to her retirement, she was employed for the Frieder's Cigar Co. for more than 30 years. Vera was a member of St. Benedict's Parish, Wilkes-Barre.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ben and Frank Cimino; sisters, Mary Jones, Catherine Simko, Sophie Andreoli and Rose Beach.
Surviving are her sister Virginia, with whom she resided with for the past 86 years; nieces and nephews.
Vera will be remembered for her great sense of humor. She brought joy to everyone with whom she came in contact. She was loved by her nieces and nephews, along with her wonderful neighbors and friends. Her greatest joy was to gather with her sister and neighbors nightly in the summer to talk about old times and current events, along with a lot of laughs.
Her family thanks her great neighbors and friends who looked in on her and her sister daily bringing food, flowers and a helping hand when needed. They also thank the wonderful staff of Riverstreet Manor for their great care and kindness.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Benedict's Church, Austin Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
