EDWARDSVILLE — Virginia Jaeger Jannone, 70, of Edwardsville, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, surrounded by her children at Manor Care Health Services in Kingston as the result of complications from cancer.

She was born in Somerville, N.J., and graduated from Somerville High School in 1967. She moved to Pennsylvania in 1983.

She fought various cancers for the last 12 years with dignity, faith and grace. Her family is very grateful for the strong support she had in her struggle from members of the medical community, especially Dr. Bruce Seidman and Priscilla Cooney of Medical Oncology Associates and Dr. John Citti of Intermountain Medical Group in Kingston.

The family is also grateful for the care she received at Manor Care Health Services, Kingston, especially from the nursing care and physical therapy staffs in the MedBridge unit. Her many friends at the Temple Apartments in Edwardsville were also a constant source of strength and assistance.

Virginia loved collecting angels, snowmen and anything with a sunflower motif. She dedicated her life to her family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Nancy Jaeger. Surviving are her son, Vincent E. Jannone, of Wilkes-Barre; daughter Vanessa and her husband, Pablo Thomas, of Philadelphia; and brother Ernest and his wife, Eleanor Jaeger, of Easton.

Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 15, at the A.J. Kopicki Funeral Home, 263-265 Zerby Ave., Kingston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at St. Ignatius Church, 339 N. Maple Ave., Kingston. Burial is private.
