William L. Bevan

WEST WYOMING — William L. Bevan, 91, of West Wyoming, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, in the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Plains Township.

Born in Wyoming, he was a son of the late Charles and Margaret Dennis Bevan. He was educated in the Wyoming schools.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. During his military service he received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

After the military, for many years he resided in New Jersey where he was employed as a painter in Lions, New Jersey, and a nursing assistant. When he relocated back to the area he was employed as a nursing assistant at Valley Crest Nursing Home, Plains Township.

He was a member of St. Monica's Parish of West Wyoming, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the DAV.

Preceding him in death were his wife, the former Grace Viccica; and sister, Mary Kindt.

Surviving is his daughter, Sarah Bevan, West Wyoming.

Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family from the Metcalfe-Shaver-Kopcza Funeral Home Inc., 504 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Interment will be in the Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. There will be no calling hours.
