SWOYERSVILLE — Daniel J. Goleach, 94, a resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. His beloved wife was the late Dorothy M. (Graver) Goleach, who passed away on Aug. 19, 1991.
Born on Oct. 1, 1919, in Swoyersville, Daniel was a son of the late John Goliash and Elizabeth (Tressa) Goliash.
A lifelong resident of Swoyersville, Daniel attended the former Swoyersville High School.
Prior to his retirement, Daniel was employed as a machinist for James Eagen Sons Co., Wyoming. Additionally, he was employed for some time by Knarr Corp., Wilkes-Barre.
In his younger years, Daniel enjoyed hopping trains with his friends and traveling all over the country. One of his favorite travel destinations was California.
Daniel was an avid reader and had a passion for reading novels by his favorite author, John Steinbeck.
In addition to his parents, John and Elizabeth Goliash, and his wife, Dorothy, Daniel was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.
Daniel is survived by his children, John Goleach, Plains Township; Daniel Goleach, Powell, Tenn.; and Catherine Williams, Swoyersville; his grandchildren, Kelly Allard, Shickshinny, and Daniel Goleach III, Kingston; his four great-grandchildren; and his nieces.
There will be no public calling hours or funeral service. A private interment will take place in the Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.
