HUNLOCK CREEK — Charles E. Allen Sr., 74, a resident of Hunlock Creek, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at his home.
He was born June 6, 1939, in Berwick, a son of the late Charles W. and Doris May Robbins Allen.
Charles served with the U.S. Army Ordnance from 1962 to 1965.
He had been employed at Berwick Forge and Fabricating as a welder and last at Lippert Components Inc. in McAdoo as a welder and mechanic until retiring.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest, Marvin and Albert Allen.
Surviving is his wife, the former Margaret Hunsinger; sons, Arthur H. Smith Allen and his wife, Donna, Hunlock Creek; Charles Allen Jr., Shickshinny; Glenn Allen and his wife, Nicole, Shickshinny, and Mark Allen and his wife, Helen, Hunlock Creek; a daughter, April Allen, Hunlock Creek; 10 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and brothers, John, Sweet Valley, and Raymond, Salem Township.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday from the Clarke Piatt Funeral Home Inc., 6 Sunset Lake Road, Hunlock Creek, with the Rev. Dan Brubaker officiating. Military honors will be conducted at the funeral home after the service. Interment will be in Bloomingdale Cemetery. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
