JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Patricia A. Brice, 64, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014, at the Earl B. Hadlow Community Hospice in Jacksonville.
She was born in Wilkes-Barre on July 23, 1949, a daughter of the late Peter and Helen Rychwalski Butruce. Patricia was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, class of 1967. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Jacksonville.
Patricia was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother; her family meant everything to her. Pat had a passion for cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was very proud of how she presented and decorated her home. Pat also loved to shop and tend to her garden. She was an avid Jacksonville Jaguars fan.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Peter Butruce Jr., in 1977.
Patricia and her husband, Edward J. Brice, celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Jan. 18, 2014.
In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her children, Cindy Carey and her husband, Ron, Lincoln University; Coleen Fink and her husband, Dave, Coppell, Texas; Neal Brice, at home; Kara Kargel and her husband, Matt, Jacksonville; five grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Baker, and her husband, Phil, Atlanta, Ga.; brother, David Butruce, and his wife, Katherine, Shavertown; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, 134 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
