EDWARDSVILLE — Henry S. Kwashnik, 86, of Edwardsville, died Saturday, March 8, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

He was born in Edwardsville, a son of the late Blase and Eleanore Stankieweicz Kwashnik. He attended Edwardsville schools, served in the U.S. Army and worked in the construction industry much of his life. Henry was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Pauline C. Burnott; sisters, Sally Markovitz, Susan Poplaski, Helen Poplaski, Helen Latone, Hedwig Tokar and Catherine Kwashnik; brothers, Joseph, Walter, Chester and Stanley Kwashnik.

Henry is survived by his son, Hank, and his wife, Liz Kwashnik, Easton, Md.; grandchildren, Sarah and Griffin Bicking, Paducah, Ky.; Gretchen Kwashnik, Norristown; Jessica and Jonathon Andres, Easton, and Katie and Josh Shams, Arlington, Va.; 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday from the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Dallas. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
