NANTICOKE — Mary Kuznicki Pratz, 92, of Nanticoke, passed away peacefully Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
She was born in Nanticoke on Aug. 12, 1921, a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Michno Kuznicki. Mary graduated from Nanticoke High School, class of 1938.
A life-long resident of Nanticoke, Mary worked in local factories for many years. She was a member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish and formerly Holy Trinity Church prior to the consolidation of parishes.

Over the years, she made hundreds of crocheted hats and scarves for needy school children and newborns in the hospital as well as lap covers for nursing home residents. She often went to her doctor appointments with crocheted gifts for the nursing staff.
Her husband, Andrew, passed away on Dec. 4, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her son, Andrew; brothers, John and Henry Kuznicki; and sisters Helen Yankoski, Josephine Sulewski, Ann "Lottie" Torre and Frances Krynick.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Ulanoski, and her husband, Robert, Atascadero, Calif.; a sister, Theresa Arbchesky, Larksville; three grandchildren, Lynn Galgan, Andrew Pratz and Cole Ulanoski; four great-grandchildren, John and Riley Galgan, and Ashley and Melody Pratz; as well as nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held in the future at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
