Ross J. Sciandra

PITTSTON — Ross J. Sciandra, a resident of Pittston, died April 9, 2014, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born March 5, 1932, in Pittston, he was a son of the late Ross and Rose (DelRegno) Sciandra. He was a graduate of Pittston High School, class of 1950, and Johnson Technical Institute.

He was a proud member of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. After the war, he was employed as a mechanic at InterMetro for more than 25 years.

He was a member of St. Rocco's Roman Catholic Church Fides Club and InterMetro Retirees.

He was preceded in death by brothers Anthony Sciandra and James Sciandra.

Surviving are his wife, Lucy (Krukowski) Sciandra; daughters, Lucyann Sciandra, Jenkins Township, and Maria Sciandra, Pittston; brothers Charles Sciandra and Joseph Sciandra; sisters, Rosemary Porzucek and Ann Marie Sciandra.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Township.

Viewing hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services with military honors by AMVETS Honor Guard will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Those who plan on attending should be at the funeral home no later than 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday from St. Joseph Marello Parish, with the Rev. Joseph Sibilano, O.S.J., officiating. Interment services with military honors will be held in St. Rocco's Cemetery Pittston Township.
