MOUNTAIN TOP — Michael L. Kashuba, 73, of Mountain Top, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Smith Health Care, Mountain Top, where he had been a recent guest.
Born April 5, 1941, in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was a son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Kashuba.
Michael was an U.S. Army veteran, stationed in France from 1962 to 1965, serving as a specialist. He was a union carpenter by trade, and as an avid outdoorsman enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving is his wife, the former Carol Wydick, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past February; daughters, Evette Desnoyers, Arlington, Va., and Michelle Motel, Mountain Top; grandsons, Richard and Hunter; sister, Joan Navin, Mountain Top; aunt, Sister Nievette Mileniewicz, Reading; nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Michael's family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of the PAC-Unit (5th floor) of Geisinger Hospital and Smith Health Care Ltd. for the excellent care he received over the past few weeks.
Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family by the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
