NANTICOKE — Jean Louise (Wermuth) Priestman, of Nanticoke, left this world to be with our Lord on Wednesday evening, May 7, 2014, peacefully in her home.

She was born in Hunlock Creek on Sept. 9, 1928, but lived her life in Nanticoke. She owned and operated Jean's Beauty Parlor throughout the 1950s. Her favorite sayings were, 'This is a comb, not a wand," and "I'm a beautician, not a magician."

However, her life revolved around her family. She loved to spend time att the family cabin in Red Rock where she hiked, hunted and hosted egg hunts for her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; mother, Louisa (Roberts) Wermuth; father, Frederick Wermuth; son, Richard August; and granddaughter, Holly Ann Priestman.

She will be sadly missed by brother, Frederick "Bud" Wermuth, Buffalo, New York; sons, Fred "Butch" Priestman, Bloomsburg; Wayne Priestman, Nanticoke; daughter, Lynda Naperkowski, Wilkes-Barre Township; grandchildren, Richard Priestman, Gina Schwartz, Dori Suda, Dina Turner, Ann Yosh, Nicole Price, Erin Moran, Jeremy Robbins, Ashli Maschefzky, Joseph R. Naperkowski, Megan Scerbo and Lydia Naperkowski; along with 20 great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held Friday at Hanover Green Cemetery. Arrangements by Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home, 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to The Huntington's Disease Society of America, May is Huntington's Disease Awareness Month.
