ASHLEY — Rosemary A. Boyle, 78, of Ashley, entered into eternal life Wednesday, June 4, 2014. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on July 21, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Ann Olenik Lendacky. She was a 1953 graduate of Coughlin High School.
Rosemary was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an exceptional cook, baker and canner. She enjoyed playing the slots, spending weekends at her son's farm and, most of all, hanging out with her grandchildren. Until the end, she remained deeply devout to her faith.
She never considered herself a person of strength. Ironically, words alone cannot describe the perseverance and endurance she displayed during her 2 1/2-year fight against pancreatic cancer. Her feisty spirit and stamina will remain forever in our hearts.
Her beloved husband was the late John L. "Hilly" Boyle, who passed away Feb. 12, 2009. Together, they shared 50 years of marriage.
Surviving are her four children, Jack, Kevin, Billy and Kelly; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph and Damian Lendacky.
Our family would like to acknowledge three remarkable physicians involved in our mom's care: Drs. John Cameron, Rodrigo Ehrlich and Patrick Kerrigan. Their exceptional dedication, talent and compassion gave us so much more precious time. We remain forever thankful.
Funeral services will be at 8:45 a.m. Saturday at Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Parish, 33 Manhattan St., Ashley.
