Elizabeth J. "Libby" Cyphers

EAST DALLAS — Elizabeth J. "Libby" Cyphers, 87, of East Dallas, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.

Born in West Wyoming, she was a daughter of the late George and Sarah Phillips Shupp. She was a graduate of Dallas Township High School.

Libby had resided in Dallas for 70 years. Prior to retirement, she was employed at Natona Mills and later with Gino's Shoe Store in Dallas for 18 years.

Libby was an avid bowler, winning many awards including a state championship. She belonged to The Nesbitt Card Marathon, loved to played bingo and visit the casino. She was a member of the Orange United Methodist Church.

Libby cherished her time spent with family and friends. Family was the most important part of her life. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten in our hearts.

Libby was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Brian; and brothers, Fred and Harold Shupp.

Surviving are daughter, Betty Mokychic and her husband, Jack, Orange; son, Bob Cyphers and his wife, Pam, Centermoreland; grandchildren, John and Kathy Mokychic, Jeff Mokychic and Bobby Cyphers; great-granddaughters, Madison and Paige Mokychic; sister, Doris Cyphers; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Friday from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Leslie Halchak, pastor, Orange United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of the service Friday.
