SHAVERTOWN — William Ziminski, 89, of Chase Manor, Shavertown, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at home.
Born in Pringle, he was a son of the late William and Stella Bienick Ziminski. He was a graduate of Pringle High School and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Until retirement he was an owner and mechanic at Bill's Garage in Luzerne along with his two brothers. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Luzerne. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his yard and vegetable garden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Bernadette Barzeloski; sister, Gloria Balavage; and brother, Henry "Hank" Ziminski.
He is survived by his brother, Michael Ziminski and his wife, Mary; sister-in-law, Margaret Ziminski; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Betz-Jastremski Funeral Home Inc., 568 Bennett St., Luzerne, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with the Rev. Michael Zipay officiating. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
