Margaret "Peggy" Geskey

WILKES-BARRE — Margaret "Peggy" Geskey, of Wilkes-Barre, joined her husband, Leo, in eternal rest on Monday, June 30, 2014, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born Oct. 2, 1936, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late David and Lillian Rowlands Morris.

Margaret was a 1954 graduate of GAR High School, Wilkes-Barre. She was employed at Heavenly Shoes, Wilkes-Barre, did cafeteria work for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District, was a nurse's aide at Valley Crest Nursing Home and worked at Sam's Club, Wilkes-Barre Township.

Peggy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor, a strong will and was a hard worker and exceptional teacher, mentoring in the health care profession. She also enjoyed going to the casino.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, in 1987.

Surviving are her children, Pamela and Michael Elliott, Wilkes-Barre; Leo Geskey Jr., California; David and Aimee Geskey, Swoyersville; Sandra and Linda Geskey, at home, and Rachel and Kevin Nichols, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Ashley and T.J. Long, Amanda Reed, Kevin Nichols and David Geskey; great-grandchild, Peyton Call; sisters, Hilda and Joseph Kalinowski, Miners Mills; Marie and Jack Robbins, Berwick; Esther and Bill Spangenberg, Levittown; Rachel and Mike Suchowski, Eagle Rock Resort, and Lois and Bruce Horn, Spring Hill, Tennessee; brothers, Robert and Vicky Morris, Levittown, and Thomas and Roberta Morris, Larksville; and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Margaret's family thanks Dr. Aliasgar Chittalia for his exceptional care of their mother.

Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Friday from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. John S. Terry, pastor, will be celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming. Family and friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
