

VESTAL, N.Y. — Lawrence B. Blight, 66, of Vestal, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 13, 2014.
He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal, and was a retired employee of L3 Link Flight Simulation, retiring after 30 years of service.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army with the rank of chief warrant officer where he was a helicopter pilot in the 101st Airborne Division of the 158th Aviation Battalion (Ghost Riders).
Larry was a lifelong aviator and enjoyed flying with Andy in their private plane. Larry enjoyed taking his granddaughters to Unity Stables in Montrose for their horseback riding lessons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Marie Blight; and his aunt, Florence Duffy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Christine A. Blight, Vestal; one son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Lois Blight, Endwell, New York; three precious granddaughters, Emily, Kristen and Jacqueline; one sister, Judith Blight, Brooklyn, New York; one brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Tina Blight, Luzerne; two nephews, Thomas and Brian Blight.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St., Endicott, New York, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Allen Memorial Home.
