WEST PITTSTON — Rose M. Stochmal, 92, of West Pittston, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Philomena Serpe Pompino.
Rose was a graduate of Pittston Township schools and had worked in the garment industry, where she belonged to the International Ladies Garment Workers' Union.
She was an accomplished cook and loved sharing her many dishes with family and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Benjamin, who passed in 2010; and brothers Angelo "Bing," and Charles Pompino; and sisters, Carrie Borino and Grace Guiliano.
Surviving are her daughters, Agnes Izolt and her husband, James, Scranton, and Phyllis, at home, with whom she lovingly has taken care of for more than 60 years; also a brother, Michael Pompino, West Palm Beach, Florida; and a sister, Mary Kozinski, Pittston; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Barbara Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 28 Memorial St., Exeter. The Rev. Michael Finn, pastor, will be celebrant. Interment will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
