PITTSTON — Rose (Latona) Maida, a resident of Pittston, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Wesley Village Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 11, 1917, in Pittston, a daughter of the late Philip and Anita (Sperazza) Latona. She was educated and graduated from Pittston High School.
She was employed by Chelsea High School as a cafeteria cook.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Carmelo Maida, Rose was preceded in death by son, Salvatore Maida; brothers, Joe, Sam, Angelo and Frank Latona; sisters, Katie Alaimo, Mary Panzetta and Carrie Alaimo.
Surviving relatives include sons, Philip and his wife, Lillian Rossi-Maida, Brooklyn, New York, Vincent and his wife, Yvonne Cosomo-Maida; daughter, Virginia and her husband, Michael Randall; grandsons, Salvatore, Christopher, Philip, James; granddaughters, Gina and Chrisilla; great-grandchildren, Marina, Morgan, Logan, Carmine, Gianna, Jake, Madison and Ava; daughter-in-law, Marie Moribito Maida.
The family would like to thank the survivors of Salvatore Maida, the Panzetta, Musto, Wojak and Alaimo families for being there for their mother and making her feel loved and wanted.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Township.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 N. Main St., Pittston. At Rose's request, there will be no calling hours.
