JACKSON TWP. — Robert Joseph Rebennack, 85, of Jackson Township and Wellington, Florida, passed away Aug. 7, 2014, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Kingston, Bob was a son of the late Albert J. and Edna Bellas Rebennack. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America, Troop No. 161, Kingston, and had attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1947.
Bob was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He was the owner of the former Rebennack Appliance, Kingston, and president of Appliance Parts and Supply of Kingston.
Bob was an active member and past president of the Kingston Rotary and a member of the Rotary in Wellington. He was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 395, Kingston, a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM 395, Kingston, the Bloomsburg Consistory, Irem Temple and a member of the Shrine Legion of Honor.
He has resided in Jackson Township for 56 years.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his aunt, Martha Bellas.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Anne Palmer; brothers, Allen J. Rebennack, Kingston, and Theodore T. Rebennack and his wife, Ruth Ellen, Shavertown; several nieces and nephews.
The Rebennack family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.
