David A. Stuchkus

GREENTOWN — Mr. David A. Stuchkus, of Greentown, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at his home.

Born June 30, 1948, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Vincent and Estelle Maleski Stuchkus.

David was a 1966 graduate of GAR High School, Wilkes-Barre, and studied engineering at Penn State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a communication maintainer for Conrail and later for Norfolk Southern Railroad, retiring in 2008.

David was a member of Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his brother at Lake Ontario and Lake Wallenpaupack.

Surviving are his brother, Richard Stuchkus, Pocono Lake; and nephew, Richard, Lancaster.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 N. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church, Sheridan Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Very Rev. Thaddeus J. Dymkowski, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
