TRUCKSVILLE — Margaret M. Woychick, 87, of Trucksville, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, following a brief illness.
Born in Buffalo, New York, Margaret was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Julia Murray Farrell. She was a graduate of Forty Fort High School, class of 1944.
In 1947, she married John M. Woychick with whom she would have celebrated 67 years of marriage on Sept. 18. Their devotion and love for each other served as a great example of the true definition of marriage.
She was a gentle soul who cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed gardening, baking and traveling. Her favorite destinations included Atlantic City, Myrtle Beach and Charleston, South Carolina. She will always be remembered by finishing a conversation with two simple words —"Be good."
Margaret was a member of St. Therese's Church, Shavertown, and a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were a daughter, Margaret Ann Woychick; brothers, Murray and James Farrell; sister, Ann Marie Woolbert.
Survivors include her husband, Jack, Trucksville; daughter, Kathryn Ann Dobias and her husband, Joseph, Turnersville, New Jersey; sons, John Jr. and his wife, Diane, Stroudsburg, Lou and his wife, Darlene, Shavertown; grandchildren, Jeffrey and David Dobias, Kristen Dobias Hood, Heather Woychick Niemi, John III, Sarah and Jenna Woychick; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret is also survived by her devoted brother and sister-in-law, William and Evelyn Farrell, Dallas; and sister-in law, Dolores Woychik, Wilkes-Barre.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Therese's Church, Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown. The Rev. James J. Paisley will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
