Matilda Dobrowolski Obituary
GLEN LYON — Matilda B. Dobrowolski, 88, formerly of Depot Street, Glen Lyon, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at Guardian Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke.
She was born in Glen Lyon, the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Dombkowski) Dobrowolski. She was a graduate of Newport Township High School and went on to pursue a degree in nursing from Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City. She was employed as a registered nurse for the former Retreat State Hospital, Hunlock Creek, retiring in 1981. Matilda was a member of Holy Spirit/St. Adalbert's Church, Glen Lyon. She was an avid crocheter.
Preceding her in death were brothers Leonard, Stephen, Frank and Joseph Dobrowolski. Surviving is a sister, Theresa Dobrowolski, of Laflin. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend its deep gratitude to Gloria Mitchell, Dr. Alex Huang, and the staff of Guardian Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care and compassion given to Matilda in her time of need.
Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Interment was in St. Michael's Cemetery, Glen Lyon. Arrangements by George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., Glen Lyon.
