Mrs. Cynthia D. “Cindy” Myers, 52, of RR 3 Box 6, Meshoppen, Pa., passed away at her home in Meshoppen Township, Wyoming County, on Monday evening, Sept. 28, 2009.
Born in Phillipsburg, N.J., on Jan. 2, 1957, she was a daughter of the late Walter J. and Phyllis H. Tibbs Moyer. Growing up in New Jersey, Cindy attended the Warren Hills High School in Washington, N.J.
Cindy’s greatest joys in life were her family and her farm.
She was an organic farmer, selling her produce throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania, but mostly in New York City. Cindy was also employed by All Seasons Food Service at the Procter & Gamble Paper Plant in Mehoopany, Pa., for many years.
In her spare time she enjoyed being involved with Girl Scouting.
She was a troop leader for the South Auburn Girl Scouts, and she was also involved in administrative aspects and all phases of Scouting.
Cindy was also a member of the South Auburn Grange 1188. She also loved tending to her gardening, especially her wild flowers, and tending to her flock of chickens. She loved relaxing, watching John Wayne movies.
Surviving are her husband of 22 years, Robert E. Myers, of Meshoppen; her two sons, Robert J. “R.J.” Moyer, of Royersford, Pa., and Lucas W. Myers, of Meshoppen; and her daughter, Sarah M. Myers, of Meshoppen; also surviving are two sisters, Regina Moyer, of Falls, and Melanie and her husband, Dyanza Cartwright, of Washington, Pa.; and a nephew, Jacob Moyer, of Falls.
Family and friends may call at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Meshoppen, on Friday Oct. 2, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a graveside service to be held immediately following at the South Auburn Cemetery, in South Auburn, Pa., with the Rev. Gary Myers of the Meshoppen Biblical Baptist Church officiating.
