Louis J. (Lou) Tapia, 69, of Sullivan Place, Hanover Township, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Heritage House Hospice Unit of the VNA, Wilkes-Barre. He was born April 12, 1940 in Nanticoke, a son of the late Louis and Lillian (Raski) Tapia. Lou was a member of All Saints Parish, Plymouth. He was employed as a salesman during his life, retiring in 1994. Lou will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Lou is survived by his son, Louis and Cindy Tapia Jr., of Kingston; daughters, Sherri Keener of Elizabethtown, Ky.; and Denise and Carl Coyle of Tunkhannock; sisters, Julie Kashmicki of Shickshinny; Lillian Penko of Nanticoke; Louise Baker of Wapwallopen, and Mary Andriukitos of Shickshinny; grandchildren, Lou Tapia III of Hampton, Va.; Jason Tapia of Kingston; Thomas Keener of Elizabethtown, Ky.; David Spencer of Plymouth; and Samara Mitkowski of Hunlock Creek; great-grandchildren, Haley Tapia, Kaitlyn Tapia Kaegan Puckett and James Edward III. He was preceded in death by his brother, Victor Wiesneski, and his sister, Fran Fromel. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12 at All Saints Parish, Willow Street, Plymouth. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are from the Piszczek-Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., 70 E. Main St., Plymouth.
