Harold Belcher, 72, of Tunkhannock, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born January 24, 1937, in Vernon, N.J., Mr. Belcher was a son of the late Robert and Ruth Elizabeth DeWitt Belcher. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was previously employed at Consolidated Rail Corporation (Conrail), where he was a curve liner for many years. Harold was a lumberjack as a young adult. Ever the outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter, trapper, and he enjoyed landscaping and gardening. More recently, he held great interest in collecting antiques. Harold was a proud dog owner, as they brought him great joy throughout his life. He was a man of Christian faith. Harold was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Belcher Jr. of Florida and Melvin Belcher of Texas. Harold is survived by his sons, Brian, of Palmdale, Calif.; Joe and his wife, Carri, of Luzerne; daughter Alice, of Harveys Lake; brothers George Belcher and wife Janice, of Lake Ariel; Jerry and wife Shelly Belcher, of Florida; Gene and wife Linda Belcher, of Florida; sisters Dorothy and husband Kenneth Kline, of Cape Cod, Mass.; Doris and husband Wayne Richards. of Branchville, N.J.; and Ruth and husband Bill McCarthy, of Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday from the Sheldon Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga Street, Tunkhannock, with services by the Rev. John F.
