Dr. Laura F. Cohee, D.M.D., 43, Dunmore, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 3, 2010. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Marilyn Goodis Cohee. Laura was a 1984 graduate of Scranton Central High School. She continued her education at Luzerne County Community College, graduating with an associate of science degree in 1986 and continued on to King's College, graduating with a bachelor's of science degree in 1989. She furthered her education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where she earned her Doctorate of Medical Dentistry in 1994. She attained academic honors and numerous achievement awards at all of the educational institutions she attended. After graduation from dental school, she served her residency at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre. She then worked as an Associate Dentist in Tunkhannock and Falls, eventually opening her own dental practice in Falls. Laura was a very intelligent, witty and dynamic person who had a wonderful sense of humor. She was passionate about animals and music. She was dedicated to her profession and was extremely generous to her family, her patients and her community. She will forever be missed by all of her family, friends and patients. Surviving are a daughter, Emily Kuczynski; Laura's longtime companion and father to her daughter, Richard Kuczynski, both of Dunmore; three sisters, Karen Stonier and her husband, Kenneth, San Diego, Calif., Susan Cohee and her husband, Peter Klunk, York, Pa., and Wendy Nole, Dunmore; two nieces, Kirsten and Ashley Nole, Dunmore; and a nephew Michael Stonier, Coachella, Calif. She sadly left behind her two beloved dogs, Bella, an Italian Greyhound; and Max, a Bull Mastiff; also Wedgey, a rescued, stray cat. A private graveside service and burial was held on Thursday, May 6, 2010, by the Rev. Arthur Davis in the Dunmore Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Dunmore.
