Joseph A. Carbohn, 72, of Lake Township, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at the Hospice Community Care, Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Carbohn was born December 12, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre, and was a son of the late Phillip L. and Anna Roskowski Carbohn. He was employed as a master carpenter most of his life and retired from Mellon Restorations, Huntingdon Valley, Pa., after 25 years of service. Joseph was an avid hunter who enjoyed hunting and hiking with his children and grandchildren and quad riding with his buddy, Paul. His son, Robert, died in 2006. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Barbara Chamberlain; sons, Joseph A. Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Hatboro, Pa., and Richard A. of Chalfont, Pa.; grandchildren, Ashley Marie and Nicholas; great-granddaughter Sophia; brothers, Phillip of Horsham, Pa., and Walter of Noxen; sisters Irene Gailey of Warrington, Pa., Bertha Ely of Noxen and Nancy Schwartz of Lansdale, Pa. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pr. Joel Mitchell, of the Noxen Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
