Robert Diltz Obituary
Robert "Bobby" Thomas Diltz, 47, of Shickshinny, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Bobby was born April 8, 1963, in Nanticoke. He is a son of Richard and Melanie (McQuown) Diltz of Shickshinny. He graduated from Northwest Area High School in 1981 and attended Wilkes-Barre Area Vocational-Technical School's Sheet Metal Apprentice Program. He was currently employed at Bear Ridge Machine and Fabrication, Frackville, Pa. He is survived by his wife, Donna Van Fossen Diltz; and son Caleb Richard Diltz, Shickshinny. Also surviving are sisters, Veronica Shuckers, Mocanaqua, and Lori Madl, Shickshinny; and brother, Randy Diltz, Stillwater. Bobby is also survived by his extended family of in-laws who love him and will miss him deeply. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. If you knew Bobby, you loved him. His quick wit and sense of humor were contagious. His love of his son was evident by his involvement in local community sports programs. Bobby was an Assistant Coach for the Northwest Jets Football Team and the Northwest Area Little League. He was also an avid outdoorsman and hunter. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Town Hill United Methodist Church, 417 Town Hill Road, Shickshinny. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. All are invited to remain after the service for a time of food and fellowship. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Northwest Jets Youth Football Program, c/o Molly Stancavage, 3 McKendree Road, Shickshinny, PA 18655. I will miss you dearly my friend. Growing up and spending the summers in Shickshinny,we had some great times which I will never forget. We fell out of touch but I thank god I was able to spend some time with Donna and you in October,was so looking forward to playing some golf with you but i know we will have that chance again in God's Kingdom.
