Rosalyn Gelb Meyer, 74, of Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011, at home. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Phillip and Sarah Wolowsky Gelb and was a graduate of GAR High School. She was a former member of Temple Israel Synagogue, the Jewish Community Center, both of Wilkes-Barre, and a life member of Hadassah. Rosalyn is survived by her loving husband, Joseph; sons, Louis Meyer and his wife, Kim, Upper Saddle River, N.J., Steven Meyer and his wife, Julie, Wayne, Pa.; Allan Meyer, Laflin, and Philip Meyer, Bridgeport, Pa.; daughters, Debra Weinstein and her husband, Scott, Roswell, Ga., and Rebecca Hoffman and her husband, Robert, Voorheesville, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and brother, Irwin Gelb and his wife, Judith, Laflin. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rosenberg Funeral Chapel, 348 S. River St., Wilkes-Barre, with interment in Temple Israel Cemetery, Swoyersville. Rabbi Larry Kaplan will officiate. Shiva will be observed at the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Irwin and Judith Gelb, 7 Fairfield Dr., Laflin, Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Shiva will also be held at the homes of her children, Steven Meyer, Wayne, Pa., Wednesday and Thursday, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., and at the home of Debra Meyer Weinstein, Rosewell, Ga., Sunday.
