I was upset to hear of Jim's death as I was only with him a coule of weeks ago at Dallas. I very much appreciated Jim and his partners at Coates allowing me to be one of their technical consultants for the last 2 1/2 years and for the many happy years I worked with him. I hope we can continue to make the company succesful in Jim's memory. My wife, Lyn and I offer our sincerest condolences to Jim's wife and family

To the Collins family. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I met with Jim just a few weeks ago..and he was smiling as always...great guy to deal with. His love for his family and work was always evident. Now his soul is rewarded...and he is truely in a better place. I am happy to have known him.

Our deepest Sympathy to the entire Collins - Ives family.
My husband and I attended St. Ann's High School together with Jimmy.
Although we have not seen him in many years, we rememeber him as a great guy, one of the brightest in our class. After reading the obituary, we were sorry we didn't know he actually still lived in the area. We both still have family in Scranton. Again, our deepest sympathy. Jack and Ellen McHugh Coyne

My deepest regrets to Jim's family. A true gentleman that I came to know during my brief tenure with Coates. I know he will be missed, but rest assured he is now in an even better place.

I am sending condolences to Jim's family, friends, and colleagues on his loss. I have been a sales rep of pigments to Coates for several years and that is how I knew Jim. He was a true professional and a pleasure to work with! Much of our correspondence was through email the last one being about a month ago. I was in shock when I learned of his passing as were my other Lanxess colleagues who worked with Jim as well. We had no idea. I am so sorry for your loss - but I do believe he is in a much better place....just way too soon.

I want to offer my deepest sympathy to Jim's wife, sons and family.I had the honor of working with Jim for ten years at Coates. He was not only my boss but became my friend and mentor. I/we learned much together in a tough business. I can say i would not be what i am today if it weren't for Jim's trust and confidence in me. Sadly i moved on to other things and probably should have kept in better touch. I will greatly miss him but i'm sure he is well now and will watch over all of us.
