William Franklin Bray, 85, of Kosciuszko Street, Nanticoke, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township, following a very brief illness.

Born on October 1, 1926, in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Percy T. and Esther Belles Bray. He graduated from Nanticoke High School and served with the U.S. Army in Germany at the end World War II. Following his military service, he attended Wilkes College and Duquesne University.

Mr. Bray enjoyed a long career with the A&P Supermarkets, having started out as a stock boy and ultimately retired as a manager working in various locations of the store in the region. He retired in 1989 after 40 years of service.

He was a member of Nebo Baptist Church, Nanticoke and had been a member of Bethel Congregational United Church of Christ until its merger with Nebo; was a 50-year member of Nanticoke Lodge # 541, Free and Accepted Masons; a member of American Legion Post #350, Nanticoke; and had served on the Board of Nanticoke Cemetery Association.

Most importantly, Frank will be remembered for his undying love for his wife, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his interest in their activities and pride in their accomplishments.

He was the last member of his immediate family, being preceded in death by sisters, Phoebe Clarke, Mary Smith and Wilma Ruck and brothers, Percy Bray and H. Robert Bray.

Surviving is his wife, the former Dorothy Balla, with whom he would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on August 27; daughters, Linda Walters and her husband, Dan, Smith Mountain Lake, Va.; Bonnie Floryshak, Berwick and Nancy Turner and her husband, Richard, Stillwater, Pa.; a son, William Percy Bray and his wife, Maria, Fairfax, Va.; son-in-law, Michael Floryshak; grandchildren, Kelly Henshaw and her husband, Brian, Joshua Walters, Megan Garrod and her husband, Arron, Nathan Floryshak and his wife, Karen; Aaron Floryshak and Noah Floryshak and Evan and Lauren Bray; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Luke and Samuel Henshaw, Brianna and Reed Floryshak; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Bray, Nanticoke; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke with Pastor Kenneth Turley of First English Baptist Church, Nanticoke, officiating. Interment will follow in Nanticoke Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
