David Joseph (Gwynedd) Tremblay, 53, of Birchwood Court, Wilkes-Barre, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at his home.
Born in Newark, N.J., he was a son of Joseph Tremblay of Florida and the late Alice (Ehrenberg) Surprise.
He was a 1976 graduate of Freeland High School and went on to earn a bachelor degree in Fine Arts from Chicago Art Institute and a Masters Degree of Fine Arts from Columbia College in Chicago, Ill.
David was an accomplished artist whose oil paintings and photographs appeared at showings in the U.S., Europe and Amsterdam.
He performed in the theater throughout his life and enjoyed attending the opera and traveling.
Surviving are his sisters Theresa Tremblay, Christina Tremblay and Michelle White; brothers, Paul, Mark and Michael Tremblay; along with step-mother, Helen Tremblay; several nieces and nephews.
Krapf and Hughes Funeral Home Inc. is assisting the family through its Butler Chapel in Drums.
