Jay A. Gardner, 71, of Mountain Top, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at home. Born in Gilford, Conn., he was son of the late Janice Sanger and Walter Gardner.
Jay was a graduate of Bridgeport Engineering Institute. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from IBM, East Fishkill, N.Y., and Fairchild Semiconductor, Mountain Top.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Lois (Very) Gardner, Mountain Top; son, Marc Gardner, and his wife, Courtney, Odenton, Md.; daughter, Jamie Gardner Wadowsky, and her husband, Jeffrey, Pittsburgh, Pa.; six grandchildren, Colin and Shea Gardner; Kaitlyn, Ryan, Mackenzie, and Alexis Wadowsky; his mother-in-law, Anna Overfield Very; brother, Kenneth Sanger; sister, Mary Lou Morgan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 175 S. Main Road, Mountain Top, with the Rev. Stephen Sours officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
