Kathleen Mary Sabol, 62, a resident of the Hudson Section of Plains Township, died peacefully Wednesday morning, Nov. 14, 2012, at her residence.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, March 7, 1950, a daughter of the late Michael and Irene Katsock Ketcha. Kathleen was a graduate of the Plains High School and obtained her associate's degree in business from Luzerne County Community College. She had been employed for many years as a crossing guard for the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. She currently was serving as the secretary for the Plains Township Planning Commission. She was a member of the former St. Joseph's Church in Hudson, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. She also was a member of the Christian Mothers Association and the St. Joseph's PTG Youth Group. Kathleen also was a den mother for the Boy Scouts Pack 10 of Plains Township and was very active with Wyoming Valley Children's Association. Most recently, she was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church, Hudson Road, Plains Township.

Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Paul R. Sabol Jr., at home; sons, Paul M. Sabol III and his wife, Melissa, of Plains Township; Michael J. Sabol, at home; Andrew J. Sabol and his wife, Marcia, of Plains Township; grandchildren, Paul R. (Paulie) Sabol, Amy Irene Sabol; nieces and nephews; brother, Dr. Daniel Ketcha, and his wife, Marcia, of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the Mark V. Yanaitis Funeral Home, 55 Stark St., Hudson, Plains Township, with a Mass of Christian burial to follow at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Township. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wyoming Valley Children's Association, 1133 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, PA 18704. Arrangements are entrusted to Gregory P. Shanko, Funeral Director, Wilkes-Barre.
