Amelia A. Olshefski (nee Zubrzycki/Zubritski), age 99, formerly of West Nanticoke, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, in Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke.
She was born in Glen Lyon on Aug. 26, 1913, a daughter of the late Stanley and Michelene (nee Mocsymowicz) Zubrzycki and was the 4th born of seven children.
Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, Michael, in 1970; her only child, a son, Robert, and daughter-in-law, Dorothy (nee Evans) Olshefski; all her siblings, sisters, Stasia Shemanski, Lucy Wintergrass; brothers, Bolish, John, William and Zigmund Zubritski.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Patricia (nee Olshefski) and her husband, Ernest Vallorano; Robert and wife Lisa Olshefski; Michael and wife Veronica Olshefski; six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, all residing in New Jersey; numerous nieces and nephews.
Amelia's family would like to thank the staff members of Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Nanticoke, and Tiffany Court Assisted Living, Kingston, for the compassion and care that was given her over the past three years.
Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home Inc., 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. from St. Faustina Parish at the Holy Trinity site with the Rev. James Nash officiating. Interment will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Glen Lyon. Family and friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
