Dolores 'Dolly' Mahle, 82, of Hanover Township, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She was born in Hanover Township, on Jan. 14, 1930, a daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Giordano Altavilla. Dolly attended Hanover Township High School. She was a member of the Ashley Senior Citizens Club at St. Leo's Church, the Catholic Daughters of St. Patrick's Church, the Ashley/Newtown Little League Auxiliary and the Young and the Old Club.
Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Mahle, in 1976. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John Lenzi, Joseph and Gerald Altavilla; by her sisters, Marose Petro, Mary Zuba, Rita Bozinko and Marguerite Amendola.
Surviving are son, John J. Mahle and his wife, Karen, Hanover Township; daughter, Bonita Mahle, Kingston; grandchildren, John Mahle and his wife, Jeanine; Stephen Mahle and his wife, Melissa; John Sims, Edward Sims and his wife, Melissa, and Brenda Llewellyn; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jonathan, Alysha, Adrionna, Dolores Marie, Jay, Derek, Kiana, John; brother-in-law, Anthony Amendola, Hanover Township; nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.
Private Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with Rev. J. Duane Gavitt, pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish at St. Ann's Church in Freeland, officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Visitation will be private for the family.
