Byron Milton Grieves, 79, of Dallas, passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
Born in Scranton, he was a son of the late Edgar and Erma Whiting Grieves. Byron and his wife, Jannette, would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 28, 2013.
Byron was a printer with Payne Printery, Dallas, before his retirement. He was a member of George M. Dallas Masonic Lodge No. 531 F&AM; Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg; Irem Temple Shrine, Dallas; and the Dallas Fire Co. Byron also was a member of Dallas United Methodist Church.
Byron was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Laverne, Ronald and Edgar.
Surviving are his wife, the former Jannette Moss; children, Robert and his wife, Christine Grieves, Dallas, and Doreen and her husband, Daniel Bevan, Lehman; grandchildren, Jennifer Harabin, Nicholas Grieves, Christopher Grieves, Matthew Bevan and Zachary Bevan; brother, Kenneth Grieves, Largo, Fla.; and sister, Naomi Alday, Georgia.
Funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Robert G. Wood, pastor, Dallas United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. Dallas Masonic Lodge will conduct services Sunday evening.
