Margery A. Sawyer, 86, of Dallas, passed away Thursday, Feb., 14, 2013, in Melbourne, Fla. while visiting her son, Timothy.
Born in Omaha, Neb., she was a daughter of the late Merrill and Ellen Browning Waite and was a graduate of Topeka High School.
Margery was office manager and secretary of the board for Sawyer's Office Machines. She and her husband, Dean, were two of the founding members of the Northeast Pennsylvania Genealogical Society. Margery enjoyed many hours surrounded by her grandchildren and was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Dean Sawyer, in 2008.
Surviving are her sons, Lawrence and his wife, Donna Sawyer, Turnersville, N.J., and Timothy Sawyer and Bette Dolson, Melbourne, Fla.; daughters, Janet and her husband, Bruce Baker, Dallas, and Joann and her husband, Gary Kostrobala, Dallas; grandchildren, Brian and Lawren Sawyer; Aaron, Kristan, Taylor and Ryan Baker, and Michael and Gregory Kostrobala; great-grandchildren, Sarah Poper-Sawyer and Lorianna Poper; brother, James Waite; and sister, Armond Bohan.
Viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas. Services will begin Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, with the Rev. Daniel Toomey officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Wyoming.
