Keith B. Maxwell, 51, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday morning at his home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of the late Henry & Ruth (Phillips) Maxwell.
Keith was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1980, and Luzerne County Community College, Nanticoke. Keith was a licensed practical nurse and was employed as a Union Carpenter for Local 645, Scranton. He was an Army veteran of Operation Desert Storm, attaining the rank of sergeant 1st class, serving with the 300th Field Hospital, Hanover, Pa.
He was a member of the Polish Club, Hudson section of Plains Township, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Keith enjoyed spending time in his garden and was always on the lookout for a bargain while shopping. He loved to watch football and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving are his son, Jeffrey Maxwell, Pringle; fiancée, Patricia Krushnowski, Wilkes-Barre; former wife, Michelle Maxwell, Pringle; brothers, Thomas Maxwell and his wife, Barbara, Inkerman; Mitchell Maxwell and his wife, Sally, Hanover Township; Kenneth Maxwell, Wilkes-Barre; sister, Molly Gentile, and her companion, Barry Dervinis, Wilkes-Barre; grandson, Alex Krushnowski; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial with military honors will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township. Friends are invited to go directly to church Saturday morning. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Maple Hill Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township.
