Thomas Stephen Rusnak Jr., 70, of Hunlock Creek, passed away Sunday at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Rusnak was born in Kingston on March 2, 1943, and was the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Caroline Cigarski Rusnak.
Tom was a 1960 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School and was employed by B.G. Coon Construction, Luzerne, for 20 years, and later became sole proprietor of Lehman Power Equipment for 28 years, retiring two years ago. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and a Lake Silkworth Lion's Club member. Tom enjoyed fishing in Canada and at his home in Beauford, S.C., hunting, working outside in the yard and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always willing to help family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Rusnak.
Tom is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Pavlick, and they would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on July 3; daughters, Stacey Novak and her husband, John, and Heather Rusnak, both of Newport Township; sister, Emily Bruno of Dallas; grandchildren, Kelsey, Johnny and Ashley.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, with Rev. Richard Fox officiating.
Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
