HAMILTON TWP. — Darcey "Chip" Kravchenko was born Oct. 28, 1974, to Jeanette (Kravchenko) Richard and estranged husband Andrew Kravchenko.
He went to Mountain View from kindergarten to second grade, then attended Susquehanna schools until 1988, when he moved to the Stroudsburg/Poconos area with his brother, Robert.
He married in 1991 and fathered two children. He worked as a welder all his life. He also fathered another child by the name of Matthew. He was loved by almost everyone who met him.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Marie.
An estranged wife and three children are left behind. He is also sadly missed by mother, Jeanette Richard; father, Andrew Kravchenko; two sisters, Debra Leggieri and April Kravchenko; three brothers, Robert Perini, John Perini and Tim Perini; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends.
Chip was murdered on Jan. 14, 2014, at 12:32 a.m. He was sleeping when he was awakened by gun shots outside his home.
A memorial service will be held starting at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Clarks Summit Methodist Church, 1310 Morgan Highway, Clarks Summit, led by the Rev. Munley. A gathering will be held prior to the service, starting at 1 p.m. If directions are needed, please call 570-347-1605 or 570-687-5859.
