Earl Glen Rothacher
89, of Dover, died Wednesday Dec. 25, 2013 at 11:04 p.m. in Community Hospice House at New Philadelphia. Born Oct. 9, 1924 in New Philadelphia he was a son of the late Hubert and Emma E. (Burton) Rothacher. He retired in Florida in 1987 from construction work. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and served in the 101st Airborne. He was a member of Ruslin Hills Church at Dover, was a member of the Dover V.F.W., Dover Eagles, Dover Moose and the Bolivar American Legion.
He is survived by his wife the former Maxine Wilma Wertz whom he married Oct. 11,1946. Also surviving are two sons Gary (Judy) Rothacher of Stonecreek and Terry (Glenda) Rothacher of Kalispell, Mont. and four grandchilden, Jo Lane (George) Ortt, C.J. (Tammy) Rothacher, Tera (Brad) Seabaugh and Chad (Nettie) Rothacher and eight great -grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Dale and Raymond Rothacher and a sister Mary Jane Ley.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday Dec. 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home at 248 Park Ave. Bolivar. Pastor Dwayne Houser will officiate and burial will be held later in Fort Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar. For those unable to attend please visit the funeral home's web site to share a memory and sign the guest register.The family suggests donations be made to Ruslin Hills Church or Community Hospice at 716 Commercial Ave. SW New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
