Barbara Henson Obituary

Barbara C. "Mother" Henson
97, of Cadiz, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz. She was born Jan. 19, 1916 in Toledo, a daughter of the late Paul E. and Katharine Allen Cowgill. Barbara was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz. She graduated in 1938 from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education and was a retired Bookkeeper and Accountant at Charles Henson Ford in Cadiz. She was a member of the AARP, volunteered at the Cadiz Food Pantry and was an avid Bridge player.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Henson in 2001; a brother, Paul Cowgill, Jr.; and a sister, Lois McLaughlin. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Palmer of Tappan Lake; a grandson, Michael (Karen) Palmer of Cadiz; a great granddaughter, Michaela Palmer; a brother, Daniel E. Cowgill of Silver Spring, Md.
Friends may call Monday, May 6 from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, with Rev. R.J. Leek officiating. She will be interred with her late husband in Piketon, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz, 154 W. Market St., Cadiz, OH 43907.
