Boughman, Blanche - Dover  
Blanche (Himes) Judy Boughman 95, of Dover and formerly of Strasburg died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover. She retired in 1971 from Nickles Bakery in Navarre following 16 years of service. Born July 13, 1919 in Strasburg, she was the daughter of the late Arlington and Edith (Klingler) Himes. She was also preceded by in death by her husbands, Ronald Judy and John Boughman; a son, Ronald "Dale" Judy; a daughter in law, Bonnie Judy; two sisters, Verda Climes and Erma Eash and five brothers, Russell, Carl, Merle, Otis and Alvin Himes. Blanche was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Strasburg and formerly active in the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. Over the years, she enjoyed playing cards, bowling and traveling. She will be most remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother and loved spending time and caring for her family. She will be sadly missed by her son, Dan Judy (companion, Vivian Becker) of Strasburg; a daughter in law, Sidney Judy of Brush, Colorado along with seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. A funeral service celebrating Blanche's life will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 beginning at 2pm in the Toland- Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Rev. Karen Biggerstaff officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Brown, Kenneth E. - New Philadelphia  
Kenneth E. Brown 89, of New Philadelphia, returned to his heavenly home Dec. 18, 2014, following a period of declining health. A son of the late Donald George and Helen (Crone) Brown, Ken was born Dec. 28, 1924 in New Philadelphia A graduate of Alliance High School, Ken was a lifelong member of the local community. He was a long time employee with the New Philadelphia City Schools as a custodian and enjoyed his 20 plus year tenure, retiring in 1990. A member of the Home Mission Church in Alliance, Ken, was also an ordained Minister with the Evangelical Wesleyan Church of Cooperstown, Pa., and enjoyed his retirement years in the pulpit. Ken enjoyed singing playing the guitar and harmonica and spending time out of doors, camping. Kenneth will be deeply missed by his wife, Dorcas K. (Oettinger) Brown, whom he married on Aug. 6, 1988; a daughter, Beth (Wiley) Dixon of St. Thomas, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Seth (Courtney) of Kansas and Stacey (Andrew) of Colorado; and three great-grandchildren, Zane, Bryce, and Paige. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his first wife, Aletha Jean Brown, whom he married on January 11, 1948; a son, Douglas Brown; and two brothers, Richard Brown and Jerry Colletti. The family will greet guests on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A service celebrating Ken's will be held on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home's chapel. A time of food and fellowship will immediately follow the service in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home. Burbank, Elton R. - Sugarcreek  
Elton Ralph Burbank 89 died at Walnut Hills Nursing Home on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014 following a long illness. He was born July 25, 1925 in Manchester, N.H. to the late Norris and Julia (Gates) Burbank. Elton married Elizabeth "Betty" Sawyer on June 14, 1963 and she survives him. Following graduation from High School in Concord, N.H. he joined the Navy and served on an Aircraft Carrier during World War II. After the war ended, he joined the Naval Reserve and returned to regular duty during the Korean Conflict remaining in the Reserves until retirement from the Navy. Elton worked for New England Telephone Company and Southern Bell in Florida, retiring in 1977. After retiring, Elton and Betty moved to Lancaster County, Pa., and operated Meadowview Bed and Breakfast in Intercourse, Pa., for several years. They moved to the Commons at Walnut Hills Retirement Community in 2004. Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Norma in Colorado, Deborah in Nevada, Nancy in New Hampshire and Sharon in Pennsylvania. He also has a step daughter, Sally living in Florida; 15 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. His sister, Phyllis resides in Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lilla Elizabeth and a step son Douglas. Elton attended St. John's United Church of Christ at Walnut Creek where a Memorial Service will be held at a later date with Pastor Mark Behrendt officiating. Private burial will be held at Stumptown Mennonite Church Cemetery in Bird-in-Hand, Pa. Smith- Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is assisting the family with arrangements.
